Is there a quick way of switching from 3D to 2D view?

Nuvi (760). Is there a quick way of switching from 3D to 2D view?

So far the manual only seems to show you have to do it by going into tools and switching. Tapping on the screen seems to bring up a 2D map but it isn't really a changed view, more a sub-menu that asks if you want to go Back.

.

Tapping on the screen puts you in "Browse" mode, where you can drag the screen to any part of the map. It is a 2D map, but you are right, to put the unit in 2D mode for navigation, you need to go into the settings/tools.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

The only way I know of is from map view...

As you stated tools>settings>map>map view> track up or north up...

edit: of course if you zoom out it will also take you to 2d mode...

Go to your route map

This isn't what you want, but may work.

You can get a look at the 2D map when you are following a route.

1. Tap the next direction at the top of the screen.
2. Tap the map button at the bottom of the screen.

When you access the route map, it is in 2D mode. From there you can zoom in and move around.

Is there a quick way of switching from 3D to 2D view?

The Short Answer is (NO) sad
