I wanted to create one location for all of our Florida members to check in and let us know how they fared after TS Fay. We've kept our fingers crossed and hoped for the best for you guys, so let us hear from you. Hopefully, you are all doing well. But we really want to know you're OK.

Sun almost out

9:00 am call from my daughter, living in Plantation Fl, West of Ft. Lauderdale, the rain has stopped and the sun is trying to come out. Warm and sticky

Ft Myers FL

Talked to my Brother (7am), He lives in Ft. Myers Floria.
They got lucky Fay stayed a Tropical Storm she made land fall to the south of Ft Meyers at about 5am EST.
Wind gusts of 50MPH nothing sustained and very hard rain fall expecting 9 inches .

A bullet dodged for sure, Punta Gorda Florida took a direct hit a few year back and almost wiped out the whole city, it's just across the Charlotte Harbor from Ft Meyers.

The best part of this whole thing is Florida needs rain badly to help it's drought conditions.

East coast OK

So far it sounds like the FL east coasters are doing OK. We're anxious to hear how the west coasters are doing - Ft. Myers, St. Pete, Tampa...

So far, little impact from Fay

I'm in Center Hill, 40 miles WNW of Orlando and 40 miles inland from the gulf coast. Winds are out of the east at 8 mph, gusting to 15. It's 77 outside with 90% humidity, so it's pretty sticky, but not raining. So far it's been pretty much a non-event here, although I expect the winds to pick up and the rains to come as the day wears on. I'm glad for all of us that Fay didn't strengthen. We really need the rain, but not the winds that a hurricane can bring.

Rain Later

Its just cloudy, a little breezy and rain expected later today, but nothing major.

1st light band

1st light band of rain just went thru with 20-25 mph gusts. Insignificant !

Probably another hour before more steady rain gets here .
We are only about 500 feet from seawall/ocean so will walk down there later as it gets closer. Love to watch the surf !

77 deg - 95 % RH Wind out of SE (anemometer not working on Weather Station)

In the direct path

The latest path indicates Fay will pass right thru my area on Merritt Island, Fl. So far we have seen some wind and rain, but nothing really significant. Fay is expected to reach us later today with higher winds and lots of rain.

TS Fay roll call

The Palm Beaches, 3pm Tuesday.
The rain has stopped here, still a little bit of wind.
We had a lot of rain, a few tornados but nothing too serious.
All schools and government offices are closed today.

8 AM Thursday

Fay STILL here. Center has been sitting for the past 12 hours about 10 miles SE of Daytona Beach and has hardly budged. That's about 15 SE of my house which is only 500 feet or so from the ocean .
Rain has been moderate wind driven - ONLY 3.75 inches in my rain gauge so far. Lost one section of fence in back. Lots of Palm Tree fronds down.
Wind has been quite high - I'd estimate 60-70 mph gusts with 40-45 steady state.
Power has blinked numerous times but no solid outage yet!
Rubber Duckys haven't failed me yet !

Hang in there, Ken. Please let us know if you need help building an Ark, or gathering animals!

Fay sure is a strange storm. I grew up on the coast of VA, and for 27 years had to deal with tropical storms and hurricanes. But I've never seen a storm that's so unpredictable. The reports and video on TV make Fay look like a real gully washer in those areas she's affected. I hope everyone is OK and that she heads north quickly to help out Alabama and Geiorgia with their droughts.

Naples Fl

No problems, some flooding, but the storm went to the South of us. Florida room had about 1 inch of water in it.

Ft. Myers?

FT Myers

Ft Myers and Cape Coral both did fine. Some trees down here and there but they didn't get the rain we did. They are getting some today.

Thanks
