Street Pilot 340 Lake Use

I was wondering if anyone has loaded the lake maps on the street pilot 340 with any sucess and how did they look. Ihad spoke with Garmin and they said that they would load but I would have decreased detail. I don't care about the depths I want to be able to save locations on the water and plot to them. Any suggestions?

I have Bluechart Americas loaded

I have Bluechart Americas loaded on my Dad's C340 and I don't see any decreased detail. I am comparing it to my friends onboard navigation on his boat and my Dad saves locations, plot to locations given in his fishing charts etc.

I want it for the TN River system covering Chickamauga Lake, Harrison Bay, Watts Bar ect

Just be aware that the 340 isn't waterproof. Could ruin your day on the water. smile

I just thought it was a little ironic to use something called a "Street Pilot" for bodies of water...
