Hello all, newbie here.
Just tried to load a POI file to my Garmin.
Downloaded the POI loader to my MacBook and started the .app but it did not recognize my unit.
Is my Streetpilot just too old to download new POIs?

Yes, time to sell the 2620 on eBay and buy a new Nuvi.
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

Yes, unfortunately the 2620 does not support Custom POIs.

The Street Pilot 2620 is the same as the 2610 it won't accept Custom Poi's and does not work with the Garmin Poi Loader it only uses waypoints But all you have to do is download the Poi file as .csv and convert it to .gpx then open mapsource up and on your tool bar click on file then open and find where you put the gpx file then double click on your file to open it and have your unit connected to your pc and then on your tool bar click on transfer then send to device it will work it will then be under your favorites
PS I know for a fact it works with the SP 2610 because that is what i do all the time for my friend and it works good
