Traffic firmware 5.00 update on my 760

I just checked my 760 for updates using the web update software and there was one new update for the traffic receiver that I installed in the GPS unit. When I plugged the GPS unit into the car traffic power connection it installed the software.
The download said it had something to do with new traffic features that will be coming. Has anybody heard anything about what features are going to be added.
I wonder if clear channel is planning to add some features similar to what the MSN traffic receiver has?

I got to get me a new GPS.. so much differnt than when I 1st bought mine... So many new features that I would use...
Guess that is how they keep- in busneiss.. make a newer and better GPS for us all to want and get!
Thing is,, My Verison Phone can do better then my garmin but I trust the garmin more!

I just checked Garmin and the "real Time Traffic" site to see if there was anything posted, but no luck.

The next generation is called TPEG
RDS is migrating to a newer format called TPEG, or Transport Protocol Experts Group. There is a write up with links for more detail at:

It looks like it will allow for more complex information to be transmitted.
