Are sound alert file names case sensitive?

Both Hornbyp's Guide and Motorcycle Mama's posting state that the MP3 file must have exactly the same name as the corresponding csv or gpx file (e.g., walmart.csv and walmart.mp3). However, Hornby says file names are not case-sensitive, whereas MM says they are.

BTW, both of these were excellent postings, but I'm just trying to clarify case before I run POI Loader, as I seem to have collected a mixture of file names (some upper case and some lower case).

Thanks in advance......Durango

I have always made them exact (case sensitive) and had not problem myself.

It's possible that they were at some point, but the results I published, were as a result of testing. They definitely aren't now. smile

(The exception is TourGuide audio - the TourGuide phrase is case-sensitive.)

Yes, I believe that's the case. At the time I wrote that FAQ, it was true, but I have noticed that it doesn't seem to be at this point.

However, in order to keep it simple for new users, I think it's a good practice for them to start out with them being case sensitive so that they can ensure that the names are the same.

case sensitive

I had been looking for this post to see what the outcome was.Glad to know the answer but agree best method is continue with case sensitive.
