GARMIN 2009 MAPS

just got a 760 and down loaded the update 2009 map. i have the file rmu_cnnant2009.exe saved to my harddrive. also have the unlock code. is this all i need to reinstasll it in cpu should i have need to.

Yes

Yes, that is my understanding.

Also, this may not matter since hard drives are so large nowadays, but I ripped the file to a DVD and then deleted it off the hard drive. Then I just included the unlock code on the DVD cover. No since taking up over 2 gigs of space for something I'll probably never need again.

it just dawned on me, should

it just dawned on me, should i try to save the program Mapinstall, how do i find the program to install. i guess the real question is how do i save the same files that r on the dvd garmin will send u.

My Garmin has Maps 2008.
How am i supposed to update to 09?

Purchase the 2009 map update

Purchase the 2009 map update disc, or purchase, then download the file from Garmin on their website. Expect the process to take about 1.5 - 2 hours.

Wait for 2010

Just bought my Nuvi 660 on Thankgiving of 2007. I have 2008 map on it. Can't be that much difference between 2008 and 2009, especially knowing our highway constructions are so SLOW. So I'll wait till 2010 if my GPS survives that long. I usually upgrade things every other year.
