c559 Splash Screen

I have searched the discussion threads and FAQ to no avail. Either I don't know how to find an answer or it isn't there. My question is simple. The 550 does not load a new splash screen using ximage it appears. Do I copy a jpeg file to the Garmin root directory and it will be copied to my c550 somehow? The display screen in the c550 indicates a place for several splash screens to be selected when the mood strikes. Put simply how do I get my custom splash screen in my c550?

Instructions for copying files are in the C550 manual page 21-22. Basically you connect to the PC with the USB cable, find the mounted C550, and drag the jpg to the C550 icon to copy. Make sure the jpg is 320 x 240 pixels for best results. Then follow instructions on page 26 to select the screen once you've copied it to the unit.

Great that works. So well I duplicated aan image. Do you know how to delete an image? I know I can't seem to let well enough alone. I thought about adding new images until the extra one dropped off. What do you think?

with the c550 connected to pc open the "Garmin" folder, find the jpg you want, then right click and delete.
You can drag/drop or copy/paste a new jpg to the same location.

Done, It had to create new
Done, It had to create new folder (jpg) for images to make keeping track easier. Easy to add and delete. Yhanks
