If you are interested in POI accuracy and have a good technical or Geography background you might want to fool around with this free program. It allows you to download data directly from many cities and counties which is based on Cadastral surveys and would tend to be more accurate. It also allows importing of USGS and Census data ie TIGER Data. Create layers of coverage etc. The newset version allows import of GPX files, unfortunatly to export them you need the full program and that is very expensive but you can read coordinates and use them for POI's. If GPS is your hobby this could be fun.
