How do I view POI's on map while driving?

Hi,
I just got a C550 and want to be able to view the POI's on my map as I am driving. Thusfar, the only icons that show up are the flag for my home address and the specific addresses which I added into my favorites. I want to be able to view gas stations, starbucks, whatever...on my map as I am driving.

Have you added all those "places" you want to see as Custom POIs , including the .csv or .gpx file plus the corresponding .bmp icon ?
And you will have to Zoom in your screen to 300 to 500 feet depending on your unit.
And probably be in the 2D screen !

Are these local poi
If they are and you have them on a s/d card, after you have the card inserted, you will have to zoom in to around 800 ft and then they should be showing up,
