Can you run a combination of SD card and internal memory?

Let say I have 10 custom pois... Can 5 of those be on the units internal memory and the other 5 on the sd card... Would that work?

What I do

I've used a combination of both. POI files I've created and am confident in go into internal memory. Those that friends send me or what I download from here go on the SD card until I am happy that the data is good.
