Naming file with a speed alert..

I think I read in a post here that if you name a file with either a number or a @ with a number (I don't remember which) you will get a speed alert if you are exceeding the speed of the number. Would the same hold true naming a folder? See examples below...

I can’t seem to find that post again. This is what I want to know. If I name the poi “schools.csv”, schools@25.csv will I get a speed alert if I am exceeding 25mph?

If I name the folder that “schools.csv” is in “Schools@25” and don’t change the name of the “schools.cvs” will it have the same result?

Thanks Charlie

That was the post I couldn't find...

So it looks like I could name the file schools speed@25.csv to be alerted if my speed was faster than 25mph...

This link probably got into more detail then you want; but, then again, maybe not:

That is correct.

Thank you all…

I just ran a few tests simulating drives with the 760.

First I named the school file Schools_TourGuide_20.csv and ran a simulation to a nearby school. At about a ¼ mile away I got an alert “school zone ahead”.

I then changed the name to Schools_TourGuide_35.csv. I checked my speed during the simulation which was max 30 mph. I again ran a simulation and did not receive an alert.

Finally I changed the file name to Schools_TourGuide_25.csv, the speed for most school zones in Los Angeles. I ran a simulation again and received an alert at about a ¼ mile from the school.

So now I have what I set out to do, only get an alert if I am exceeding the speed limit of 25mph…

For info on why I added TourGuide to the name see the link given me by retiredtechnician:

??

You results are inconsistent with the tests I did earlier...
...I'm assuming the reason for this, is because you didn't supply a matching 'Schools_TourGuide_nn.mp3' file.

So POILoader (silently) ignored the 'TourGuide' phrase and built speed-related, along-road alerts instead.

(I just did a quick test (using POILoader 2.5.2) and verified that result using Garmin's GPI_Viewer.)

You are correct..

I just tried it again and got the same results you did so I did probably forget to rename the mp3 file. I also was out and about today and had no idea how many schools were around... I am not going to use the TourGuide name I just get to many alerts..

But I learned a lot with the experiment…
