Custom POI Icons

I've got a bunch of POI's loaded and read about how to get custom alert tones on a nuvi 200 (achieved with success!), but I can't see my Custom POI icons when browsing the map. I did everything right loading the icons because the icon shows up when I get directions to a specific location, or when I save that specific POI as a favorite.

I was under the impression that I could see my custom POI icons on the map when they are in the "Extra" folder.

I guess my concern is if I download the red light POI's, they won't show up when I drive past time unless I have each individual location saved as a favorite.

I'm sure I'm missing something here, but I can't quite figure out what...

SEEING is BELIEVING

Your ICON will only show up at a zoom level of 300 or 200 ft. or less depending on the unit you have. Also they will not be visible in the 3d mode only in North-up or Track-up.

Got it!

Thanks H Hanna!! I knew I was missing something.

gminor68,
Read the posts on the thread aophiuchus referred to (that's where I looked to figure it out) and if you have any more questions, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Nice to hear familar voices alert me.

Thanks aophiuchus and wabakazoo. The procedure in the link worked like a charm. I could record alert tones in my kids' voices and hear them sounded near a speed camera site. Kind of a fun.
