I was wondering if you think Garmin would update the UI which they are using for the nuvi 2*5 models to the older nuvi models. Eg. the graphical turn arrow and speed indicator. It seems that all those changes can be done with a firmware update. Think it is possible Garmin would update the older ones? Thank you.
:-(
It would be an unprecedented move (for Garmin).
One acquaintance of mine has even been told that they are no longer fixing bugs on older models! (Apparently, Garmin Italy issued that statement - I don't know if they were authorised to do so...)

Easy to do, but will never be done
While it would be relatively easy to change the UI through firmware changes there is absolutely no incentive for Garmin to do so. They are in the business of selling GPS units, not improving old ones. Bug fixes are necessary to keep customers happy but eventually they hope you will step up to a newer unit. Apple has begun to charge for firmware updates that add new features to its iPod Touch device; but they have no competition with it. Garmin has too many models and too many competitors to offer firmware upgrades.

Here is to hoping
I really hate the Garmin business model of flooding the market with so many different models with slight improvements. I think models should be introduced when they cant be utilized on the current unit. Nuvi isnt that old persay. It isnt like 3 yrs old. There are like 30+ models of Garmin? I understand different units for traffic updates or TTS but some differences are easily be updated with a firmware update. Am i suppose to buy another unit for a slight and NEEDED graphical update? Oh well it is still a business at the end of the day.
I could give a long list of
I could give a long list of updated features which would be nice.
