I've noticed that on the c340 there is a Vehicle mode.
Several different types are listed such as Taxi,
Car, Truck, ect.
Does anyone know what these different settings do.
Of course you would set it to the type of Vehicle
your driving but technically what does it do...
Thanks
Vehicle
The manual says it will help optimise your route you are takeing. I think it would help if you had the Traffic Info on your unit. And it helps the manufacturer keep in tune with who is buying their units.

It will keep you from taking certain roads which may be prohibited i.e. Trucks not allowed on certain roads.

Very interesting
Ah, that's very interesting.
I would have never thought of that.
I guess the unit is programed with this
information where for example: 18 wheelers
shouldn't take City / Town roads they should
be routed to the Business routes. Very
smart on Garmins part.

Emergency Vehicles
On my c320 you can set the mode to Emergency vehicles which will direct you the wrong way down one way streets too!! Not very useful for most of us without a death wish, but quite interesting.
also
I've also read,(somewhere here I think) that the taxi mode may use a route where the passenger can disembark at their location from the passenger side. I haven't tried it, but think I will soon.
