WebUpdater problems

Has anyone successfully installed the version 4.10 update to their 200? My fails at 88% every time.

I've tried different USB ports, different devices (nüvi and flashdrive), and even reinstalled WebUpdater.

If someone eMails the GUPDATE.GCD file to me can I just copy it to the Garmin folder on my nüvi, or do I need to use an Updater?

I really wish Garmin would go back to offering manual update files. WebUpdater is more trouble than it's worth.

Still no luck

No luck getting WebUpdater working. Spent several hours with Garmin tech.

Looks like I have no way to update my nüvi anymore, unless Garmin starts offering manual update files again.

Glenn, I was having a play with this...
...but I need to know the Garmin part number for the Nüvi 200 software update.

In \Garmin\GarminDevice.xml, there's a section (at the top) that reads along the lines of:

<Model>
<PartNumber>006-B0566-00</PartNumber>
<SoftwareVersion>440</SoftwareVersion>
<Description>nuvi</Description>
</Model>

In this example "006-B0566-00" refers to the Nüvi 310.

What's the 200's equivalent string?

EDIT:

OK - forget that question (The answer's "006-B0660-00" smile )

WebUpdater is trying to download:
arrow http://www8.garmin.com/software/nuvi2xx_regionfileonly__410....

but fails on my system with "The update file is corrupt"!

However, I can manually download it with Internet Explorer. It is 5,955,988 bytes - which sounds reasonable.

Passing the name of the downloaded file on the WebUpdater command line still gives the same error message. In other words, the download seems to be succeeding - the file really is corrupt - at least as far as WebUpdater is concerned.

I wonder how anyone has applied it successfully?

NUVI 360...

is now only updatable with webupdater. Interesting.

Webupdater is ok, but I liked the manual method as a backup just in case...

Manual installation available

Hey guys,

the Garmin website DOES offer a "manual" installer. You download the whole installer including the image and execute it locally.

Check out http://www8.garmin.com/support/blosp.jsp. When you go to the Colorado 400t website they only offer the Beta 2.51 version but you can easily guess the URL of the 2.40 production release: http://www8.garmin.com/software/Colorado400t_240.exe

Checking out right now whether the update brought any significant improvements to battery life.

No Manual Installer There

Garmin hasn't offered the manual updates for the 2x0 for about 9 months. Most other nüvi's have come down from that page also.

I looked everywhere, and its not there. Is it possible to install it on the devide itself? I ask because I remember it asking me something about a drive and it was set to the nuvi

You can either do a search or

Just download it again and remember where you downloaded it to, but once you install it, it should go into the garmin folder unless you tell it not to.....
