Using multiple maps in nuvi

When using multiple maps (since I have yet to do this)and you travel from US to Europe and back, when you use the nuvi on a plane, do you just use the City Nav US map with the "off road" feature checked and zoomed way out until you get the signal then zoom in to an acceptable distance?

The City Nav US has Europe (land mass)but with out the roads, just the name of major cities. I have yet to receive the Europe maps in the mail but the mapsource viewer online does not display "either" of the other nations so I was curious too if the Europe maps has US land mass without the roads? Or is it better to just switch the map half way across the Atlantic?

Maps

What you are buying, the European maps, is the street maps that will be overlayed onto the basemap already in the unit.

If you take your Nuvi now and go to Wrenc > Maps > Map info, you will see your current map set. If you uncheck the box, it will remove the overlay and only display the north American land mass with major cities. Replace the check mark and your street maps are back.

When you plug in you card of Europe you will have the second option of Europe.

My suggestion is that when you get to Europe, you un-tick the North American maps as this will help the Nuvi Load faster. If you don't it may take about 30 seconds longer to boot up. It really won't make any noticeable difference in navigation if you don't.

Thanks
