My Garmin 660 has lost it's voice??

I have the settings right...checked them a dozen times. It shows the turns on screen but announces nothing. I loaded some poi's and corrected one to reflect the actual location of our WalMart but that's all. any ideas??

Try a full reset?

Did you check:
1) volume setting
2) mute is off (my son tends to check this)
3) using internal speaker, not transmitting to car FM radio

Hope this helps...

diagnostic screen

see info below to self test. I think on the 660 the touch point is upper right also.

When you're at the main screen, hold your finger on the time in the upper right corner for more than 5 seconds, and you'll get to an info screen, and back/next buttons lower right of screen.

There's some sound diagnostics, and screen tests, and lots of info pages - including one with some battery status/statistics. To get out of the diagnostic mode, power cycle your unit...and when you do this, it will take some time to lock on to satellites.

good call a_gps. It was set

good call a_gps. It was set to fm transmit instead of internal speaker. I must have accidently hit that button at some point I guess.

Three Presses

A double press of the on/off button switches to FM. If you press it 3 times and hold it to turn off, it will turn off in FM mode. Knocking three times may work for Tony Orlando, but not for the 660.
