Confused about route preferance

When coming home to Toledo Ohio on rt#65 near Lexington Kentucky, I put go home. I planned to take 65 to 69 to Ohio 80 turnpike. My 2730 kept wanting to take me over to Cinci to 75.I am set for don't avoid tools and tried fastest and shortest. I am hoping someone can tell me what I need to do to have the gps get me on the route I want.
Thanks

No Surprise Here.

Since your route is roughly 160 miles longer than the 2730's routing, I don't understand why you seem surprised. 65 doesn't go through Lexington -- it goes through Louisville. I don't believe a single waypoint (if that is the limit for a 2730) can cause the route you want, so you could do it in two sections. The first would be to Indianapolis with a waypoint in Louisville. Then you'd choose Toledo as a destination with a waypoint of Fort Wayne.

Or, since you seem to know the way you want to go and it is interstate the whole way, you could forget about using the GPS to route you.

Sorry I ment Louisville. I

Sorry I ment Louisville. I like to use the gps in heavy traffic, when towing a car with the motorhome.
It helps knowing which side and where the exit is, so I have time to get in the lane I need.

Still Longer

That means your desired route is 74 miles longer than the route suggested by the GPS. If you really want to go the longer route, you can set a single waypoint on the freeway in Fort Wayne, IN and it should then route you as you desire.
