I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me if they got any software disks with their Nuvi 660. I did not get mine at a retail store, and no software came with it. I was wondering if there is something I am missing. Thanks.
The only software that came with my 660 was the manual. The Updater and POI Loader you can download right off Garmin's website.
My 660 - about a year old- came with a Users Manual disk. The Manual Disk did not work properly but the Garmin Tech downloaded a copy to my PC.
I have found no disk coming the Nuvi 660 Package, I would look for the information At (www.garmin.com)
I will try and help you when I am back home to locating the info. I don't have the Email to converse back and forth with you where I am at now.
Just look thru the Garmin.com site at the additional downloads area go down the list and locate your Nuvi 660 and click on it there will some information there.
I hope this helps you and your cause.

Just got a new 660 from Amazon a few days ago and there was a CD in the box. The only thing on the CD was the .pdf user's manual in many different language versions. As has been suggested, you can probably download the same file.
I bought my 660 from a retail store in November 2007 and it came with an owner's manual disk, a garmin north america travel guide on an sd card.
came with my retail bought unit in Dec. 2007.
I got both disk and tour guide with my 660 in Dec also
To answer the OP's question, the nuvis do not come with the MapSource software disks. Typically, the only disk is the one containing the user manual and related information.
If you want/need MapSource, you will find many threads here discussing how people have obtained it for free from Garmin by asking for it.
It's also possible to use EasyGPS which is a free download.
I got my 660 in May 2007. There was 1 disk in the box containing the Users' Manual in many, many languages.
My 660 also came with ONLY 1 CD with the user's manual in it. Garmin will send you the MapSource CD's if you call and ask. They did for me and it was at no cost. I've read some posts where they (attempt) to charge you for the shipping only. Good Luck!
but my nuvi 650 did not come with disks. download the software updater from garmin, hook up your 660 to your computer via usb and run the updater from your PC to load the latest software onto your 660.
I did the same with an email to customer support off of the Garmin website. Great customer service and they sent the MapSource CD free of charge.
you are entilted to the map source software disk, they do not tell you this.
Call garmin support and request the software for map source and they should send you one.
Or they may download it to you computer form there site.
You're correct. Garmin's customer service is wonderful. I've had several great experiences with both phone support as well as email support. They are much better than Magellan.
