Deleting built in POI's in Garmin 260W

I did a search in the POI factory base and there seem to be different opinions regarding deleting built in POI's. I have several POI's in the FOOD section that are out of business and I would like to delete them. I opened the Garmin folder and coule not open the POI file to get at the list. Suggestions. Thanks

it isn't possible to remove internal poi without doing a "hack" to it.

You can report errors in the map data to Navteq who produces the data for Garmin.
