You probably need to zoom in more closely.

I have tried that. In and

I have tried that. In and out. as far as it goes. Still not there. I will keep trying it out and see I guess.

Thanks

What happens

What happens when you pick a specific POI from the list and then choose the "Show Map" button?

Map mode and zoom level might affect that

POI's do not show on my Nuvi 350 unless it is in North Up or Track Up map display mode. And even then, I have to be zoomed in to 200 ft or less.

The only time a POI will show in 3D map display mode is if I'm actually routing to it or if there is a speed or proximity alert set on that POI.

Your 680 may have similar behavior.

Did you load an icon with them? If not, they may be just dots on the screen

I moved my friends and family from my favourites to a custom POI-file. After doing this, I noted the same thing as described above: these points ceased showing on the map while in map mode. I generally employ the 3D view and I do have an icon associated with my friends & family POI file.

Do you have a proximity alert set as suggested may be necessary by johnc?

Many models do not show the Custom POIs on the 3D map screen.

Usually

Normally you would need to be in a non 3d mode, zoomed in less than 300 feet for your custom poi's, and less than 200 feet for the factory map icons. If neither one are showing and you in 3d mode, zoomed all the way in, make sure that you have your 2008 map checked and enabled.

I had not set the proximity alert. I shall try that.

Dear Bent,

Thank you. I had not set the proximity alert for that POI file and shall now experiment with that. I did not want the thing beeping at me but want to find out if that will make a difference. I shall let you know if it does.
