does this make senes?

if i buy two automobiles, and i want a CD player installed in each automobile- should i have to buy two CD players?
if I buy two computers- just the towers. and i want a monitor for each computer, should i have to purchase two monitors? or should i get one for free?

just curious how people think.

you should NOT get one for

you should NOT get one for free...CD player or monitor.

if you don't want to BUY 2 CD players, it's up to you to purchase something portable. if you don't want to BUY 2 monitors, you'll have to move the monitor, or BUY cables for switching.

using your logic, if I BUY some gas, someone should GIVE me a car confused

Dinner

I guess if you were going to treat two friends to dinner you would make them split an entree.

Wow, this went over my head!

Wow, this went over my head! Why would you think that you should get a cd player for each car for the price of one? I don't see the logic.

Sense?

Me thinks this might have something to do with having two GPSs and having to buy two map updates (one for each) rather than being able to use the same one with both - but I could be wrong grin.

Logic??

If there IS any logic involved, it is somewhat warped. mrgreen

I suspect, however, that there IS a point to asking the question. What exactly IS on your mind; I doubt that it is CD players and computer monitors.

Yes, but...

He's mixing apples and oranges. You can't put one "physical" piece of equipment into two separate devices. However, you CAN load one piece of software into two separate computers or other devices.

You can buy two tower

You can buy two tower computers and use only one monitor, one key board and one mouse, if you have a KVM switch.

Not the point

Yes, and you can buy two monitors and hook them to one tower. Not the point.

there is no sense of making

there is no sense of making this argument. The question was nonsense. Logically you will not do it.

I agree with the software or 2 GPS and buying one mapped and loading them into 2 gps.

Except...

If anyone ever actually read the license agreement that comes with any software, you almost always agree not to use it on more than one machine without paying an additional license fee. For commercial software you always need a key to use it, and you need to pay for any additional seats. That's all thats happening here. Garmin is simply doing what they can to ensure against piracy by associating a unit serial number with a key. Nothing unusual about it.

Except...

Exactly. The same thing Microsoft and nearly every other big player does to deter piracy.

This makes more sense not senes

If you're in a car traveling at the speed of light and you turn your headlights on, does anything happen?

Your instrument panel will become illuminated and your outside lights will heat their filaments. You will also have a visit from Q, who will tell you that humans should not be there.

One driver - two cars

If I am one driver and I own two cars, why do I have to buy insurance on two cars? Only one will be driven at a time.

Where is this going?

If I have two kids who go to college; do I have to pay for both of them?

If I have two ex-wives; should I have to pay alimony to both?

I have three cars; should I get free gas for two of them?
