Me

But I gave it up. My 650 is much better, the DeLorme GPS just wouldn't work. Tried to go thru DeLorme to get it fixed, but they kept throwing stuff in my path, I just gave up.

Had one for a couple years

I had the Delorme Earthmate LT-20 for a couple years. It was a couple years ago, so I doubt that the version I had was SiRF-III. The Delorme software was really very powerful and completely configurable. But a little difficult to master. At ~$100 for the software and GPS receiver, it is an exceptional value. At the time I bought it (couple years ago), Delorme had voice promting for turns, and Microsoft Streets & Trips did not. If I were to look at a laptop-based GPS system nown, I would also look closely at the Microsoft package.

I have used DeLorme for

I have used DeLorme for years as well and just a week ago purchased the Microsoft version. All I have to say is the Microsoft Streets and Trips sucks compared to the DeLorme versions. I used the regular for a long time but upgraded to the Plus version.

I am a truck driver and the DeLorme works perfect. I have added almost everything a truck driver could need and still adding new POIs as I go.

Their is another GPS package specifically for Truck Drivers I have not tried yet and that is CoPilot for Laptops that uses PC*Miler. Apparently it has all the scales, port of entry's, Truck Stops, Rest Areas, Bridge heights/Weights, Haz-Mat and Truck Routes already in it. Though it runs at about $200.00 and up for it.

If you are using the DeLorme Software you need to swap the Longitude and Latitudes when importing the POIs from here. Also it needs to be converted to a TXT file and then imported via the draw option unless you have the Plus version then you can import the CVS through the XDATA tab.

swap the Longitude and Latitudes

Thanks for the comment on switching the latitude and longitude, gee that makes all the difference. Now to show the name and address from the cvs import. I used the XData. I ma new at Delorme but like it so far.

Earthmate

I have a Delorme Earthmate and software that I no longer use, if anyone has a need for one, give me a yell. This unit is perfect for truck drivers with a laptop.

I wish

I wish they could cram all the things they have on streets in to a dash board gpsr's. They don't come close in any feature. especially screen size, just to bulky for a car.
