finding cities

This is our first time on a trip since getting our nivi 750. When I try to enter city name, and them "done" it take me to the search citys page. I thought as soon as you started entering cities, a list of possibilities would pop up as you type ?? Either my gamin 570 does not have this or I am doing something wrong. Help
not sure what you're trying ...
what are you trying to do? where are you entering the city? in the go to/cities?
re: giving a list of possibilities, I don't have the 750 ... you may need to look in the tools section and 'turn on' auto-complete? just a thought...
if that's not it, auto complete only works in some cases ... the nuvi only searches so fast, and if you 'type' faster than it searches, you won't get a list. secondly, you only get the list when the letters you type narrows the options down to a manageable number ... in other words, if I type "N E W" I won't get any options, but once I enter " [space] Y " New York will pop up. In this case there are too many New _ _ _ options. It needs the "[space] Y" to appropriately narrow the choices
