Map Upgrades

I purchased my three GPS Units (Nuvi 360 and 660)(Street Pilot 550c) in early 2007 and have never updated the maps. I would appreciate any insights regarding:
- the format (CD, SD card, etc.) of the new maps when purchasing the "Map Update 2008 City Navigator® North America NT" online from Garmin
- do I need to make only one purchase for all three units
- will installation of the new maps remove my POI's, MP3's and other content

The update is available on DVD.
Yes. The update will be good for a single unit. You would need to purchase an update for each unit on which you wish to update the maps. Many people are satisfied with updating the maps every other year rather than every year, but it depends upon your needs.
No. It shouldn't. You might want to backup your Favorites before you do it, but it shouldn't affect them.

Purchase Options
I almost purchased the update through Garmin, but it was going to be 3-5 weeks for delivery. I ended up going to Target.com and they had the update for a lower price and I got it in under a week.
When I did the 2008 upgrade, all of my settings, custom POIs, and other stuff was still in tact afterwards. Literally, everything was still in place. Backups are always a good idea though.
upgrade to PC
I found out you can also use this 2008 upgrade DVD to install to your PC. It's nice to be able to view all the POI's on your computer. It helps if you also want to print out hard copies of the maps.
2008 upgrade
All you have to do is click on the CNNANT2008Update_enu.msi file on the DVD and it will give you instructions to install it on your hardrive. After you finish. Click on the mapsource program. To unlock the maps go to the my.garmin.com page and log in to your account. Under your account you will find the unlock code for the the city nav amer NT 2008 deluxe which is what you will enter to enter in mapsource program when it prompts you to and you will have access to it on your computer as well.
