What City am I in?

Does anyone know if there is a way to determine what city you are in? I have a nuvi 760. I've tried the "Where Am I" and it does not. If I tap the screen while in 3D mode I get a flat map which shows sometimes a dot and city name, but doesn't have city boundaries and is not clear when driving.

Thanks.

Easy

Go to POI, touch on any POI category, open the closest to you and it will show the city name.

Easy but driver distraction...

Thanks once again Flaco. Yep, that works laugh out loud However it seems like a lot of menus and presses to get the City when driving. Are there any other ways to get the City info that anyone is aware of?

cities

If it doesn't show on the map, the quickest way for me (on the nuvi 200) is to hit where to, scroll, hit cities and it will give me the closest city. It's not likely that you are on the exact lat/long point of the city you are in, so it will probably give you the city you are in right up top.

Not really

If I do it your way it gives me the closest city and not the city I'm on, just tried it in my 260 and it shows neighborhoods in the city but not the actual name of the city, after scrolling down about 3 pages it finally shows the name of the city.

If you do it as I previously described by using POI it does shows the name of the correct city on the closest POI to your location.

However NuviMatt cant walk and chew gum and he is looking for an easier way that doesn’t distract him from driving.

Unnecessary Comment

Ignorant insulting comments aren't something I've seen very often on this site. It's too bad you took my second request for a different answer as an offense to you. Sorry you are so insecure.

oops

NuviMatt, I'm the one that should apologize by making a joke at your expense, I did not take your second answer as an offense, believe me there is no insecurity here, I was trying to point out to dminz that the option of touching the screen was not what you were looking for and added the joke not to offend you but to make clear what you wanted. redface
