Screwed out of points???

Hey,
Have any of you been screwed out of you points at Get-Go? I have been told by a friend that he hadn't use his for three months and when he went to get his gas..
at Get-Go, the 30 points a gallon had been wiped!! Is it true you must use them or lose them?? I thought this was only done by the thives @ Shop& Save. On Jan 2nd I pulled into the Hempfield Plaza Get-Go Station in Greensburg Pa, where the sign read $309.00 per gal for regular. While I was filling up, the guy at the next pump hollered", do you believe that??". He was pointing to the sign which now read $319.00 per gal regular. Talk about bait and switch! So much for my .20cents off per gal I thought I had earned. I asked the clerk who's name was Stephen Musce, "What gives??". I know Get-Go doesn't. He just threw his hands in the air as if he had no control or care in the matter. I might have understood if it was high noon or midnight, but it was 1:43 PM. when I was robbed!

Thanks for the screwing Get-Go

Okay, first of all welcome to the site. Interesting first post.

If you are interested in POIs and such, please take some time to look around and you will find tons of great information and a helpful community.

Second, this is a family site, so we like to try to keep our language family friendly.

Third, this is the open talk forum, but we try to keep the vile at a minimum.

There are no Get-Go's around here (whatever that is), so I don't have any experience with what you are describing. Maybe some other members will have some knowledge of the practices of that business.

Smile they said, things could get worse...

Assuming I've got my litres to US gals and £ to $ conversions right, Petrol is about $7.90 per (US) gal here in the UK sad

I think u have the wrong

I think u have the wrong kind of "points" of intrest site. I`m sorry you need to vent-but it would suit your frustration better to do it on a site realitive to your issue. And one great thing about a capitalist economic society is that you can buy your gas elsewhere.

this is not the place, but ...

While MM and pammckenzie are correct, and I completely agree that this forum is not the place for rants about issues not related to the GPS community, Miss POI has been gracious enough to give people a small area of this site for "off topics" like this ... if you feel the need to tap into knowledge and experience of this community re: issues other than GPS, please use the "Chatty Charley" thread that is restarted each week.

Remember ... even is Chatty Charlie you need to keep things family friendly.

I think you're right

Hey Phil,
Traditionally gas or petrol as you call it has always been much higher than the USA. Even when in the Navy and I toured European gas was much higher then too. If memory serves me right gas in Germany back in 1976 was about $3.50 per gallon! The thing is that you're used to paying steep prices and we're not. In europe they tax the daylight out of fuel and most everything else for that matter. I think they call it VAT which can run upwards of 15%. In canada they pay a very high VAT to subsidize the "free" medical system and I think UK does something similar. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong...

Is it just me or does Three Hundred and Nine dollars a gallon sound a little steep shock Traditionally in Canada we use Liters and ours is around $1.079 and given the current exchange rate would be $4.857/gal. Once the price gets over a dollar you should move the decimal point accordingly.

Ummm yeah....

That was kind of different but let me throw in my "welcome" anyway. I somewhat doubt you'll ever read this but what the hey...

The only problem I have with the post is that you pretty much posted someones (the clerk) personal identity and workplace in a public forum.

Kerry

gas

here in houston, tx. Premium is at $3.05 Chevron, highway6(tx-6) and West little york.

LOL I didn't notice the

LOL I didn't notice the decimal point! I assumed $3.09 a gal. not $309.00 a gal.!! Too funny smile
