Stopping the trip counter

I did a search... nothing obvious and/or recent showed up...
I'm using a StreetPilot c340.
During a trip, I see that I can stop the trip counter for a period of time, and that seems to stop all of the counters (moving time, stopped time, average calculations, etc). However, is there a way to stop the trip counter once you've reached a destination so that you can look at the information at a later time? The option to stop and detour disappear from the screen at that point. The only solution I've found so far is to change the GPS setting to OFF (not the same as turning the GPSr unit itself off).

I dont know that model that well, can you do a screen shot of what you want, that is if it works like it is suppose to.

I'll try to get a screenshot... I see you have a c530... the screens might be similar. What I'm talking about is when you are looking at the map during a trip, the bottom left of the screen can be touched to bring up the screen that shows a variety of information about your trip... current speed, distance until the end of the trip, distance you've covered, Overall Avg, Moving Avg, Max Speed, Total Time, Moving Time, Stopped. When I reach my destination and press on Menu (map view, bottom middle of the screen), the Where to? and View Map buttons are present, but missing are the Stop and Detour buttons, which I guess are only available when you are in the middle of a trip. Once my destination is reached, the Stopped time continues running, changing the total time and Overall Avg for the trip. I'd like to stop the counters/timers at the end of a trip.

I have a C530 and the only way I can stop the counters is to turn the unit off. As you say, you can also turn the receiver off, but other than that I don't know of any other way.
