Restricted area

What area of Chicago were they in? Do you know how the screen was displayed?

Was Restricted across the top in the green or red bar, or did the map disappear as if there was no data? What version of maps do they have?

I have lived in Chicago for about 47 years and surround suburbs about 5 years after. I have never know about any restricted area. Do you have the location this happened?

When my daughter and son in law were using their new StreetPilot c340 I gave them as a gift, they wanted to use it to plan a route from Kennedy Space Center to Cocoa Beach.

The route the GPS planned took them into a restricted zone, with no warning. Actually, they got a warning from a security guard with a rifle, who gave them updated directions, on a road not on the GPS!

Could this have been picking up an air space restriction? Thats the only restricted area that I can think of that could be in a major metro area.

I went to the Launch of STS-117, and rode all around the Cape on one of their buses in restricted areas you couldn't drive, as well as some other areas in my car using my Nuvi660, and never picked up anything like that.
