Great customer service

After updating my SPc530 yesterday, I disconnected it and turned it back on. A window came up saying there was no map data and could not continue. :>( I couldn't believe it and had no idea what might have happened.

There are 8 Sears stores in the area (within 50 miles) and the Sears website noted that only one of them had the c530 in stock, which was a break for me since they just had a sale of $199 for them. I went and exchanged the GPS this morning.

When I got home I called Garmin to tell them what happened. It took an hour but I got the old serial number cancelled from my account, and got a new key for MS 2008 so I could install the maps to my new GPS. Thank you Garmin. I new I bought a GPS from the right company.

Having issues with my 750 - they're going to trade me for another one....having satellite acquisition & lock issues. They'll overnight one when I get mine sent back. Garmin is tops.

Great Customer Service (Too)

Amimyk:
My hat is off to Garmin too. I recently had an issue that needed direct help from their customer service line.
They answered the phone on the 2nd ring. When the tech person could not answer my question I was transferred to a "level two" person, who answered the phone within a few minutes. He was able to answer my questions.
NOW THAT IS FIRST CLASS CUSTOMER SERVICE.
GO GARMIN!!!

I see that you too have a spare GPS. It comes in handy. I no longer leave town without both as a result of an acute dependancy syndrome that's not covered by my health insurance.

the spare

Well, I was going to pass on the 660 to a family member once I got the 750 - but, in light of my issues with the 750, I'll delay the "hand-me down" until I get the replacement, and all goes well.

And no, I'm not looking to 'adopt' anyone for a future "hand-me-down". smile

Mine gets 'loaned' to family members, but won't be leaving my possesion any time soon. It's interesting how the family can give me a bad time about my gadgets, but they seem to become necessities when they are leaving town.

I have not had any issues with my nüvi 760 and don't think it's just because of the spare.

worth having a spare

I bought a nuvi 650 and gave my c320 to my son. I picked up tomtom for my grandson but I loaned it out a friend and now he is mad at me but before I loaned him my c320 for loaning him the tom tom he said what a step down in quality of use.
