POI Factory news...

I just wanted to check in with everyone and let you guys know that we had an unexpected holiday visitor this last week and I was not able to get some of your BMP Icons published like I had promised some of you.

I was also not able to decipher the map for the MD speed cameras and have found a buddy to help me with those, so my apologies to those of you that submitted stuff that has not been published yet.

I just made a sweep of the moderation queue and we will be checking that once a day instead of throughout the day like we usually do.

Jon and I will be doing more family visits until the 27th, so if we don't respond to a red light camera report email please be patient, I will be answering those emails after the holidays.

We will be monitoring the forums and keeping a eye on things throughout the week.

We wish you all a safe and Happy Holiday Season.

Miss POI

Merry Christmas

And enjoy your holiday time away from the computers smile

Have you checked the Getting Started and FAQ links at the top of the page? You will use the csv file to load onto your gps with a usb cable. After reading the links above let us know how we can help.

Since you're not in a 'Mac' forum, I'm assuming you're using Windows. I'm also assuming you're using the Midwest USA file at http://www.poi-factory.com/poifiles/us/schools
If so, the file is in zip form. Right-click on it and select Extract all .... Then you'll find a .csv file in the schools-midwest folder.

You don't have to open the csv POI file to load it into the GPS; but if you want it opened it will try to open in the default program you have set for the .csv extension (evidently that's Excel). The way to get around that is to right-click on the file, select Open with ... and select Notepad. Then the POI file will open with Notepad.

If you're wanting to open the POI file to select only specific POIs, POI Verifier has an option to 'pull out' POIs by a selecting a state.
