problem loading poi locations

new to this. i have a nuvi 200 and downloaded the garmin poi loader and got some locations off of this web site but when i go to download them to the unit it gives me an error that says that the device is not ready. can anyone help?
Poi-loader
When you start Poi-Loader it should look around until it finds your nuvi, make sure your unit is connected with the usb cable to your PC (or MAC), If you plug it in when it is off, it will power it up. (which indicates that it is hooked up correctly.) Amount of free space on the unit shouldn't be a problem with small size files like POIs, There are How to post on using Poi-Loader on the FAQ page.
Once the poi's are
Once the poi's are downloaded how do i know that they are in the GPS system?
Where to find poi's
Look under extras and then you should see Custom POI and they should be there. At least thats how it works on mine.

Some nuvis have them under My Locations(I have heard)
Also if you look on your unit in windows explorer in the POI folder, there will be a file poi.gpi, that is what poi-loader creates, it contains your custom pois.
