New to the GPS world

Hello everyone. As you can tell from my question I am new to the world of GPS. I recently bought a Garmin C330. I only use it locally to find addresses for deliveries. My current unit warns me at .5 mile and at turn. I understand there are some POI's that would allow me to set more warning distances than those two. If someone could point me in the right direction, I would certainly appreciate.

If you laod the custom poi's you can use the poi loader in the manual mode to you set the distance you want.Make sure you have installed the poi loader to your computer.http://www8.garmin.com/products/poiloader/

Thank you, Charlie. You say if I load custom poi's, I can use that to set distances. Is that any custom poi, or a specific one? Apologies for the dumb questions, but I am brand new with GPS. I have already downloaded the POILoader from Garmin.

Custom poi's like the ones
Custom poi's like the ones you download from this site and also the files you design yourself.Some files have the distance already set in the file such as the red ligh cameras.Like I stated use the manual mode on the loader and you will see the screen to set the distance just put check mark in it and decide what distance you want.Make sure you go to the faq at the top of this page and click on Garmin and you will see lots of info for the files plus a lot for the c330.Don't worry about the questions we all done the same thing when we started.I still got a lot to learn I only started in Sept with my first gps but have learned a lot from this site.
