When you load an icon and poi's where do they go" I loaded some on my nuvi 350 and it said down load successful but I don't know where to look to see if they are there....I thought the icon would go to the" where to" screen but it is not there....I need some enlightenment.....
Custom POI's
You will only see your icons when you are viewing the map and are close by. As for finding the poi lists (i have streetpilot c330 and c550) they should be in your where to/favorites or other similar folder heading and called custom poi's.

When you run POI Loader, it compiles all the Custom POI files and associataed BMPs and MP3s into a file named POI.GPI.
If you are looking for individual locations on the maps, you probably need to zoom in further to see them.
If you are looking for the list, as noted above, look in your Where to? under Extras, Custom POIs.
Do the BMP only work in one
Do the BMP only work in one mode vs another. for example I uploded the white castle poi list. but I never see any white casle logos on my map even thought the alert is going off.
Thanks
.
They should be visible on the map screen in all modes, however, depending on the model you may need to be zoomed in closer.
ok I got a 660
How far do I need to be zoomed in? and how do I know how far I have been zoomed in?
zoom in zoom out

Most models (there are some exceptions) will only allow you to see the custom bmp when zoomed in to 300ft and closer. There are two quick ways to tell.
1) set your display for something other than 3D view.
2) zoom all the way in - that will be 80ft, zoom out once, that's 120ft, zoom out again - that's 200ft, zoom out one more time - that's 300ft.
So, if you zoom all the way in, then zoom out 3 times that will be 300ft. If you zoom out one more time that will be 500ft and the icon will go bye bye.
That's all in the nav mode. It works the same in browse map mode. If you select a specific poi and then press "map" you will see the icon regardless of zoom level. However this is only good to look at, no good when navigating.
