I have version 7, is it worth the upgrade. Is it only maps that have changed, or have they changed the program at all?

There are some changes, however there is the unit memory issue to be considered.
Most units will only allow you to either to install only the 48 states or the Canada region, but not the whole upgrade.
After you do the update, you will have the other region, however it will not be updated in C/N 2008.
I hope they will do something about this in the near future. If not, you might as well throw the unit away after a few years.

I guess it depends on where you are and if there are a lot of new roads in your area. Functionally, I don't think there is any difference. Just updated roads and stuff.

I am in NY and I seen some road mofifications and some new POIs but they need to get rid of the places that went out of bis. that is what is taking up the memory.

Most of the nuvis will allow the full update, it all depends on how much room you have on the RAM.
