Find a POI to locate all US and Canada campgrounds

Can anyone help a new GPS user and new to this forum.
I recently purchased a new Garmin c580, and I thought it would lead me to all state and private campgrounds, the same as it woild to a hotel. I was unable to find campgrounds , so I called Garmin. (a day late and a dollar short) They informed me the only way to find them is with an address. Well that's about as handy as a pocket in your shorts. He did tell me about this site, so here I am. He said something about POIs and I understand that, but that's about as far as it goes. Help
