low clearance alerts

i just loaded the low clearance poi, and was wondering if the 330 will alert me if and when i get close to a tunnel etc. anybody know?

.

If you run POI Loader in Manual Mode, you can set the proximity alert at whatever distance you wish.

Yes it can but you should test first

You can not simply depend upon a POI file to have the correct information and also depend upon it to be properly loaded in cases where safety is involved. If you are using these alerts to avoid collision with a bridge or tunnel for example, there are three issues you have to consider. One, are the coordinates in the right place, is the POI in the file, and three has the file and alerts been properly loaded. Therefore, you should test to make sure the files work and if you reload the coordinates, you have to retest. If safety isn't an issue, then you may not be concerned. Please understand that this site is not a company producing POI data and that the companies that do are not nearly 100%. In fact, I think Miss POI and others on here probably verify better POI files than most commercial companies do. But that's my story!

Use with Motorhome

I use that file with our motorhome, but not as an alerting POI. I use it to check routing for low clearance. Instead of depending on alerts for low clearance, it's far better to read signs. Once you've reached the low-clearance, it may be too late to turn around.
