Software update for SP 340

Did we all complain enough about 4.3 to get 4.4 that quickly? I knew Garmin was not going to leave us stranded for long. Thank you Garmin.

Has anybody downloaded v4.4 to their c340 yet? And if so, did it fix the problems with v4.3??

I just updated mine and I tried the simulation and it did not turn off after it go to the end, I havent tried anything else yet because I am at work rite now, guess i will see in about an hour or so when i leave.

I jumped the gun on the last version and had to go back to 4.0.

I'll wait for more daring C340 owners to give it a go.

Mine is working great now with software fix 4.4 but I noticed it was also removed from the garmin update website as well when I checked this morning but it is back now. I downloaded 4.4 last night as soon as jbh89024 mentioned another update was out there to correct issues with 4.3.

Did you load 4.4 without loading 4.3, or did you have to load 4.3 and then 4.4?

I just updated from 4.0 to 4.4. Haven't tried it yet (I will in about a half hour). But I had to reset everything like when I went back from 4.3 to 4.0. Did this happen to the rest of you that downloaded 4.4?

Just loaded 4.4 and ran my now infamous simulation run. It worked fine first shot. And, like jkaplan, noticed that the 340 did do a hard reset this time. Forced a re-entry of your favorites, but luckily did keep the separate POI files.

Will test a navigation run tomorrow. Man, Garmin is fast. All the more reason to own one of theirs.

I already had 4.3 installed so when 4.4 was mentioned, I immediately went and downloaded it. I had to reinstall the favorites from Mapsource back to the GPS but custom pois were not affected.

Anybody know why some of the favorites that are transferred to Mapsource with phone numbers attached come back to the GPS with the phone number missing digits?

Downloaded 4.4 over 4.0, reset all the stuff lost during the download and re-entered my few favorites, took the unit out for a test run in real time (not a simulation), and by God, it works!

Well I downloaded it from the site, saved it and ran it. It did reset like i had just bought it new and all of my POI were gone but that was ok cause there where none from when I did the downgrade(they all got wiped out and i didnt know it was gonna happen, oh well). After the update satellite accusition was pretty fast.
The test was i had to go from Garden City, NY to Brooklyn, it worked with absolutley no problems, no lockups, no restarting no problems, glad to see Garmin fixed this problem really fast.
