new update for MSN direct receiver

Where is the link where you found this?

Use the web updater... It will listed in the additional updates.

Do you get this automatically or do you have to download it separetly.

Updated note. Seems it arrives when you use webupdater today. I used it yesterday and it was not yet there.

My unit says that there's an update through webupdate, however, whenever i run webupdate, it doesn't find any updates. Is there anywhere to download this from?

What firmware version are you running right now?

The most current version for the c580 is 5.7 as of April 11, 2007 and can be downloaded here.

I got that message, but I had already installed the update. It could be a broadcast message to let people know about the new release.

I also get the message every few days, even though I've d/l the update. There is no update listed when I run WebUpdater.

I got another message on my C580 that there is an MSN update available. When I run WebUpdater... nothing. It seems to happen every week. Is this still happening to anyone else?

I am on the fringe of the Denver coverage area, and really don't get a signal unless I hang the power cord/antenna onto the kitchen light (no joke!). However, today I was in Denver and when I was ready to head home I noticed a "storm cloud" type icon on my map screen. When I pressed it, I was shown a county-by-county list of weather alerts for the area (we're getting a bit of rain... whoopie). If I got better coverage at home (ie: not just in my kitchen), this would be a nice feature.

It is still happening to me. It happened again yesterday morning. Ran WU when I got home, and nothing shows up for any update. There is no update for that available yet (I have updated to the latest one a few weeks ago).

I have Nuvi 680...love the thing...but MSN Direct has been a disappointment...I also have the same issue of notifications that I must update and I know it has the most current listed update.
Seems to be a software bug of some type.

I've been having the same problem where I get a message that MSN direct has an update after I've done the update. Happens every couple days and is getting very annoying. Than again, I'm not receiving an MSN direct signal even though I'm in a "covered" service area. Both Garmin and MSN direct can't figuire out why I'm not receiving a signal even after receiving two units. Looks like I shoulda got the c550.

After you get the message that you have the latest update, you will need to click the next button. There will be a list of additional updates, the MSN update should be the first, select it and click next to download. After the download is complete connect the unit to the car antenna mount and go into the MSN screen and then hit subscription status to complete the upgrade.

The issue is that there is no update listed. I received one right after getting my C580, but since then no updates appear on the list. The notice still comes up every week or so. It's not a problem, just an annoyance.
