leap year, for which I no longer know why.

I thought as a kid we learned it took almost 6 hours more than 365 days for the earth to orbit the sun, and that's "almost" 24 hours every 4 years. But again going back to childhood, it's off by under an hour when that is done. It's the reason I never attempted to build a time machine, but am thinking about doing that during retirement.
