Update

My Sports tab: iOS 16.5 brings the highly-requested My Sports tab to Apple News. You can follow your favorite sports, teams, leagues, and athletes there. It’s also possible to access scores, schedules, and standings for the top professional and college leagues..

Siri improvements: While users can ask for quite some time for Siri to take a screenshot of the iPhone screen, iOS 16.5 makes it possible for the assistant to start a screen recording for the first time. Users must say, “Hey Siri, start screen recording,” and the screen recording will begin..

Pride wallpaper: iOS 16.5 includes the recently-announced Pride celebration wallpaper for the iPhone. It has some interesting UI tweaks.. see https://bgr.com/tech/ios-16-5-and-ipados-16-5-now-available-...

iOS 16.5: Update Released For iPhone Users With Urgent Fixes And

Which iPhones can run iOS 16.5?

If you have an iPhone released in late 2017 or later, you’re golden. Apple iOS 16.5 runs on all iPhones from the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X onwards, and this update includes features relevant to all those handsets.

Today’s release of iOS 16.5 is the latest whole-point software update before Apple moves on to iOS 17, which will be unveiled at WWDC on Monday, June 5.

What’s in the release

You can take Pride in this new release. That’s because there’s a new Pride Celebration wallpaper. This is new. Apple releases a Pride Apple Watch band each year, sometimes two, with several related Watch faces, but an iPhone wallpaper is a change. Perhaps this seemed like the year to do it, thanks to the iOS 16 capability to have multiple lock screens on the go. It’s a fetching and colorful look.

Apple News app now has a Sports tab so that you can easily access information related to your favorite teams and leagues, while My Sports score and schedule cards in the same app will take you to game pages, which is handy.

This update fixes a Podcasts issue with CarPlay not loading content and sorting out an issue where Spotlight froze. The third fix is about Screen Time and relates to a situation where settings did not reset or sync as they should.

This update includes the following enhancements and bug fixes:

A new Pride Celebration wallpaper for the Lock Screen to honour the LGBTQ+ community and culture
Sport tab in Apple News gives easy access to stories, scores, rankings and more, for the teams and leagues you follow
My Sports score and fixture cards in Apple News take you directly to match pages where you can find additional details about specific matches
Fixes an issue where Spotlight may become unresponsive
Addresses an issue where Podcasts in CarPlay may not load content
Fixes an issue where Screen Time settings may reset or not sync across all devices
Some features may not be available in all regions or on all Apple devices. For information on the security content of Apple software updates, please visit this website: support.apple.com/kb/HT201222

Thanks

Trying iOS 16.6 beta today.

Maybe sit this one out?

While Apple usually avoids discussing details about security improvements bundled into an iOS update, so maybe those are worth getting, the feature updates and bug fixes in 16.5 are not compelling for me.

Maybe I'll just wait now for iOS 17 in June, unless of course Apple insists on doing an overnight update.

Exposure Notification?

Just wonder if option "Exposure Notification" still exist in this update or not?

I still hold my update until they will get rid of this, or maybe I won't use iphone anymore smile

I do fight a lot since 2017 for century of virus covid but nobody listened and kept the tag on me as crazy under their documents, but since last several weeks, many infos across the world confirmed mine, and under security forum, some confirmed virus weaponized it's since 2016, not as 2017 from my working places.

Remember the day I quit this big engine, their machine still running fine without any regrets

yesterday got free time and look at the video 60s on youtube, there's one concerning how DNA can determine exactly the time when you will die smile

Of course, their big agenda can determine your "D" day after you willing to give them free consent of everything got into your body.

I used to work for them rooted to NIH,Pfizers, Modena etc... especially on Neuro... just wonder why nobody questioning about next terror things happening.

Good luck and hoping there will have justice for all of us next time if somebody can understand all of this! Yours.

For those that don’t know what “exposure notification” is/was see https://www.macrumors.com/guide/exposure-notification/. From the content, it is stated “The APIs were created with privacy and security in mind, and app usage is opt-in rather than mandatory.” You can manage Exposure Notifications on your iPhone by going to the Settings app and looking for the “Exposure Notifications” menu.

I’m inclined to believe that the app today is meaningless.

IMO, much of what we hear or read today about CoVid and is not much more than the rooster claiming credit for sunrise. Wait long enough, sometimes just days, and the “science” will present opposing views.
