Garmin 1090 --- where do the POI's "go"?

All,
Do POI's uploaded to the 1090 show up as red entries on the 1090? I ask because I uploaded a bunch to my new 1090 and they don't appear as custom POI's in a new directory on the 1090. Thus, I don't know if they were uploaded or not. I speculate the red entries are the new additions but I don't know for certain.

Per the manual they are under categories see https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-9FC76615-A91B-4... . use garmin pOI Loader
Use Garmin POI Loader to load POI files. If it was not used, I don't think the POIs were loaded.

Thanks. Yes, I looked under Categories and they are not there. Apparently, they were never uploaded --- using Garmin app. thanks.
