Zellers is a Canadian retail brand with a storied history dating back to 1931, when it was founded by Walter P. Zeller as a chain of discount department stores. Known for offering a wide range of affordable merchandise including clothing, housewares, toys, and groceries, Zellers became a household name across Canada, especially during its peak in the 1990s with over 300 locations. It was acquired by Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) in 1978 and operated as a discount arm of the Bay for decades. However, beginning in the early 2010s, many Zellers locations were closed or converted following the sale of leases to Target Canada, leading to the brand’s near disappearance by 2013. In a nostalgic twist, HBC relaunched Zellers in 2023 as a pop-up concept within select Hudson’s Bay stores and online, offering a curated selection of value-priced goods with a modernized approach while tapping into Canadian consumers’ sentimental connection to the brand. In 2025 Hudson's Bay stores closed.

On August 28, 2025, it was announced that Zellers would be relaunched again under new ownership of Les Ailes de la Mode, with the first location opening in a former Hudson's Bay store at Londonderry Mall in Edmonton. However, it has been delayed 3 times since August, with the latest being an unspecified opening date in October 2025.
