My Garmin Express indicates a new version (7.16.0.0) is available

Time will tell.

Downloaded and updated to 7.16.0.0 for Mac. Didn't notice any issues.

Garmin Express v7.16.0 is available for PC today. If you would like to update to the latest version, please visit “About” within the Settings of the Express application and select “Check for Updates to Express.” This version includes the following changes:

• Fixed an issue with critical software updates not requiring a restart before a map update.
• Extended timer to prevent failure for installing maps to the computer.
• Fixed a crash when saving a music folder path manually.
• Other minor bug fixes and improvements.

And a day later, I checked and also see that it says my 7.15.2.0 is the latest.

I wonder if this newer Windows version was removed.

Perhaps.. this is getting us ready for a map upgrade.

My laptop is running win 11 pro-21H2 and my desktop is running win 11 pro-22H2. Both say 7.15.2.0 is up to date.

My W7-64 system says 7.15.2.0 is current as well....

Maybe they pulled the GE update??

I'm the one that originally started this thread. I'd like to confirm that I indeed have version 7.16.0.0 on a fully up to date Win 10 64-bit machine. On opening GE, it further stated I was up to date.

I do have a Win 10 machine, also fully up to date, but it is a relic and can only handle the 32-bit version of Win 10. That reports I'm up to date with 7.15.2.0.

You can check if your system is 32-bit or 64-bit by going to Start > Settings > System > About (along left side of screen). Look for "System type" under Device Specifications. It will read something like "64-bit operating system, x64-based processor."

John, we don't doubt that you have 7.16.0.0. I just think that you downloaded and installed it before it was removed by Garmin for whatever reason. I'm running Win 10 x64 and still shows no update from 7.15.2.0. Just checked again.

Still the same previous version!

Even a direct download from the Garmin website shows 7.16.0.0.

If I go to https://www.garmin.com/en-US/software/express/windows/ and do a fresh download of the Garmin Express Installer and then use File Properties >> Details it also shows 7.16.0.0. Again, to emphasize, this is a fresh download direct from the Garmin website, not anything involving an update process.

Using the built-in updater does not currently pull down the 7.16 update. Downloading 7.16 direct from Garmin's site and installing over the previous version does work however. So either a bug with the updater function, which is unlikely, or else Garmin hasn't yet made an update package available.

My original statement that 7.16.0.0 was based on doing the update process in the normal manner. I had simply opened GE and on presentation of the update available statement, allowed the process to continue. The Garmin forums also seem to indicate the availability of the update. Thanks for the news. I use windows too, but my Garmin express is not showing that update. I guess it will be eventually available to me.

Because there is still no new map released yet. I only checked because it was posted and I was doing nothing at the time.

I never got around to updating to 7.15.2.0 whenever that came out a while back. I ran Express on my Win10 x64 desktop this morning, and it said that new version 7.15.2.0 was available, downloaded, and installed it. Nothing anywhere about 7.16.
