Good idea to wait a week or two
I think with Win 11 updates it may be a good idea to wait a week or two and then review the content at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-health/stat... before doing the install/update.

Do I hear any votes for waiting a year or two

Never argue with a pig. It makes you look foolish and it anoys the hell out of the pig!
Almost a year already
Windows 11 was released to the public in early October 2021 so it has essentially been out almost a year.

Even better, wait a few months. I haven't looked into it but im sure there's a way select which updates get installed without all of them coming down the pipe line.
I'm still on win 10. Here's my latest updates.

From the above article "There’s some suggestion only SSDs will be compatible soon, but that’s more likely to be introduced in the 23H2 update."
As time goes on, fewer and fewer of my PCs are hardware compatible with the new versions of Windows. Same for the software, legacy programs increasingly fail with each new OS update. Their answer seems to be buy a new PC and new software, even though everything was working fine. Don't get me started on the move to subscription based software.
