So am I right in concluding that there is no way to see POIs, except the destination, in the 3D view of a Nuvi? I would have liked to see some of the POIs in that view. Some of the other brands seem to allow that.
thanks

probably not

not familiar with the 370 but most models react alike.
In navigation mode, you can see custom bmp's used in association with custom poi's, when zoomed in to the 500ft or closer range.
In browse map mode, again zoomed in, you will see the custom bmp's as well as the preloaded icons.

OK I did see the POIs at max zoom
Thanks for the tip. Why some of them show up with BMP icons and others as dots. Do the dots represent POIs that are pre-defined by Garmin ?
Dots
Dots show for POIs without associated BMPs. I think all of the Garmin preloaded POIs have an icon associated with them, so they shouldn't show as dots.

That is the way I see it

If you have a custom poi with a custom bmp associated with it, you will see that bmp when near that poi.
If you have a custom poi without a custom bmp associated with it, you will see a gray dot.
Most of the preloaded poi's will have some sort of icon like, $ or car on a lift etc. There are some black squares as well. But, the gray dot is a custom poi, without an associated image.
