I bought my 350 a few weeks ago, thinking this is a great 'toy' for me (yeah, I'm a tech junky). It was recently fried in an electrical storm and I cannot believe how much I miss having it in my car!
I have 3 meetings at client's houses tomorrow and I'm searching the 'map' right now. I feel so... ancient?? Or something.
My point being that I purchased it as a 'toy' never realizing how significant it really is.
Please come back Emily!!
AWww. I'd miss Jill too.
AWww. I'd miss Jill too. How'd it get fried - charging on AC or something more dramatic?
Someday, you'll get another Emily, I'm sure she's out there somewhere...
Fried friend

I'd give our friends at Garmin a call. Depending on who you talk to, how you approach it and the attitude you go in with, you may find someone that will cover this under warranty.
You may also be able to work out a deal about the cost of repairs. I had one of my "older" GPS units fall out of one of our cars, and while it was 3 years old, completely my fault, they did arrange for a half price repair.
Garmin is great to work with, and they really do take the time to listen and help. Of course, this may be why their phones are tied up.
Yeah, I tried Garmin
Yeah, I tried Garmin Support, and they were sympathetic. They offered some good advice and an RMA number should I choose this route.
Unfortunately, being from Canada, the shipping expense and time issues have made me decide to just buy another. No regrets.
Silly thing is, I'm one of the few that Garmin has shipped the NT 2008 update to, but until I re-purchase it's a mute point.
Cheers!
