looks like we spent the FSA money but it's a shame that my employer messed it up (per IRS regulation I requested to stop contributing, they terminated me as an employee thinking that's how to get my contribution to $0 , reinstated it so I didn't lose the $2700, but then said I have to contribute even more money per pay to catch up).

The above illustrates what happens, when sorry if not PC, but unqualified people are made directors in HR. This person is like 27 years old and doesn't even relate to what a FSA is, what it's for, or what the IRS rule this year was for. Everybody I told my story to in that dept. said yeah that's not right and empathized--this director didn't, and I attribute it to being a greenhorn given a title.

Because of covid the IRS allowed changes to the FSA mid year, to help people get more take home, and also, because many were avoiding going to the doctor for elective, blah blah blah.

When I lost all the money she said, "I'll see what, IF ANYTHING, can be done."

end rant lol first world problems

p.s. my employer has 13,000 employees, and just one person who can fix my FSA, the person who messed it up in the first place. ok second end rant!
