Importing POI Factory icons into Google My Maps

I've downloaded an icon in .bmp extension from here on POI factory to my computer. When I try and import that image into Google My Maps I get a "server rejected" reply.
Is it possible to get an icon from POI factory into Google My Maps?

OK, just figured it out. For

OK, just figured it out. For anyone else needing to know, upload the icon to Google Drive and then select that icon in Google My Maps > Google Drive.

I do use Google My Maps. I haven't put my own icons there yet.
I am still having trouble getting the icons from My Maps to show on Google Maps when I am making a route. They dissapear when I am making a route so I can't click on them to make a waypoint for the route.
